Get your cursed apprentice's magic back

Sent in by Albert Here's a tip you can try after you get past the cave of Kapel and get cursed with your magic being taken away. You can't remove your own curse without the moonlight, but you can remove your apprentice's curse. Simply switch apprentices and fight around for a while till you find your old apprentice again. If you are lucky and he or she asks to join you again, you will find their curse has been removed!

Lots of experience points

Sent in by Jason You need to have a turbo or auto controller to do this. Once you get your people to a level above 17 go to a place near a town and fight a monster without using magic. If the person did little to no damage on your team go to a place like mountains or water so that you can't walk to the left. Now tape or put something on the left arrow of the cross pad. Now get into a fight and tape down the turbo or turn on the auto. Walk away to eat or something come back and heal your guys in the town. Then go back and do the trick over and over. The more you do it the longer you can stay away. I got my team from level 46 to level 80 in one night.

How to get the first six runes

Sent in by Neal Both Cave of Melenam When you enter, find the red flashing light in your crystal display. It is the Wind Rune. Get it first before doing anything. It will be wise to get out and save yourself when you got the Wind Rune. When you get to the exit (blocked by stone), Brantu will open it... Guntz South SE of Pell. Guntz needs water. If you keep pressing the town sage, he will eventually promise to give you the Water Rune if you can bring water back to Guntz. Use Wind Rune to go back to Pell and bring the digger here... Patrof castle-answer YES to join the bad apprentice so you can go through the front gate. After you save, come back to the bad apprentice and say YES you've changed your mind. You will get the Star Rune after you defeat the bad apprentice... Luze Defeat the dragon to get to the Sky Rune. If someone stole it, don't worry. Use the Wind Rune to go to each town. Step outside the town. If the town flashes in the crystal display, one of the apprentices inside the town has the stolen rune. Defeat him and get the rune back. Polasu You may find Commander Prosa here. If you keep pressing him, he will eventually promise to give you the Moon Rune if you can bring back the children from the Serpent in the castle of Baran. Don't go to the castle of Baran from here. It will be much better if you go from Tiffana. If you defeat the Serpent and Prosa refuses to give you the rune but instead asks you to find Pegim, go to Zellis and find him, then return and Prosa will give you the Moon Rune. Now, to get them back, along with the wizard rune. Barluca This is the place you have heard in either Bugask or Gunta before you fight Gariso in Gorfun. Go NE and find the town of Saro's followers. Saro's followers You will hear about the cave in the west and Saro town It is a good place to rest. There is no shop here, so you have to make your way back to the Airship to shop if you need to. Cave in the west. Follow the trail of Tetujins and you will find Saro. Two guards are there guarding Saro. It may be wise to save your progress after you defeat the first one. Once you find Saro and talk to him, you can go back to the town of Saro's followers and get all seven Runes from them. Click here

Dog flute

Sent in by Brandon Beaulieu In the first few levels you will fight the dead dog romas or something if you are having a hard time you can just let him kill you then go back to the town to the left of the castle he was in and talk to the grumpy old lady at the south west of the town and she will give you a dog flute or something and then go back to romas and use the item you got from the old women!!!

5000GP

Sent in by James Repchull Once you make it to the mainland after getting the third rune, the elder of Guntz will give you 5000GP in thanks.

Beating the seven apprentaces

Sent in by James Repchull All: Buy a B.Power and B.Protect, or Runes, and don't randomly pick a fight, fight them only when they are in your way. Kamil and Olvan: Use the Water Rune or Potion2 and wait out their castings of Fire2. Kamil won't even use the Star Rune if he has it. When they attack for at least 4 rounds, then you counter and slay them. Olvan is smarter, and uses runes and other magic. Wilme and Lux: Wait out their magic (which won't take long) and then attack. They are weaker attacking, but have more defense than Kamil and Olvan. Esuna and Valsu: This is tough, they have at least 80MP, but only cast Ice1 after putting their attack and defense up. Their Ice1 is tough enough, and they won't let up. With the Sky Rune, their murder. If you agree to the tyrant's with the Star Rune's idea, you can go in and out of the castle freely, and you can change your mind and kill them. Beat up Brains and S.Brains for easy experience and GP. They also give away recovers, which refill HP and MP. N.Brains, however, aren't worth very much. Only fire can harm Monmo. By the time you get to him, you'll have the rune that can restore MP, so pound away. You can beat Lejes easily by having Defense1, or the Star Rune. He always uses Defense2, then he attacks if it worked. He won't even heal. If you can keep your defense up, he's dead.

Apprentce tip

Sent in by James Repchull If you are having problems with an apprentce, kill your hero and have his ally fight the battle. You can revive the hero in the battle.

Buying a random item

Sent in by James Repchull The kid who will sell you a random item for 100GP, won't sell if you're Wilme.

Killing Romus

Sent in by Excerion@aol.com Are you stumped by the boss Romus in Aran castle? There's an easier way. After getting killed by him once, go back to Rablesk. There's a sort of hidden passage in the lower left corner of the town. Go inside the house beyond and talk to the woman there. If you've been to see Romus, she'll tell you a story. Then go outside, and speak with the man there. He'll give you the Whistle, which will kill Romus instantly.

Killing Valsu Saiser

Sent in by Excerion@aol.com Here's my technique for killing Valsu Saiser. Use Agility up and defense up to start with. Attack normally and use the Water Rune to heal until he doesn't use that ice spell to attack. Then, start hitting him with your most powerful magic. Heal as necessary. He knows powerful healing spells, but this routine will nullify that.

Belaine and Telaine

Sent in by Quezy To solve the problem between Belaine and Telaine, go to Luze. If you walk around the abandoned city, you will find small oval objects on the ground. There should be 7 of them. Stand on one and Search. They are called Crystals of Peace. Pick them all up and take them to the King of Telaine and let him see them. If you say no, then you'll be forced to find Pegim if you want the moon rune. If you say Yes, after you beat the serpent lady, go to Polasu and go into the house in the top left corner and the general will be there, and he will give you the Moon Rune then. After you do that you can sell the Crystals of Peace for $100 each.

Find the Cave of Lasao

Sent in by Steve Duncan To find the Cave of Lasao, go to Padal and follow the mountain range to the west--make sure that you walk along the edge of the mountains. It's a couple of screens over, but not too far away.

Raising your partners levels up

Sent in by Beverly Instead of raising your apprentice levels up, to fight another apprentice, try raising your partners levels up. Each apprentice raise up at the same time. So if you raise your partner then ALL other apprentice will stay at the same level, and will be easier to defeat the apprentice in order to get the runes. This process will take approximately 1 hour instead of 6 hours.

Prevent the sky rune from being stolen

Sent in by Nicholas Crotty There is a way to prevent the sky rune from being stolen. If you go straight through the cave without entering any towns and without dieing, it will be there. There is also a hidden cave somewhere to the west of Belaine but that has nothing to do with it.

Remote Control

Sent in by Max Channing When you get to Bone, go to the back of town and go into the house in the middle and keep on going down the stairs until you get to the tavern. Talk to every one then go out the door. You'll see a kid walking around. Talk to him and get the Remote Control, then go to the cave west of town. Find the part in the wall that looks weird stand in front of it and use the remot.

I found the Wind Rune in the Cave of Melename. The problem is one of the other apprentices stole it. How can I get it back?

This is a very common problem. If you have had the Wind Rune stolen and have travelled past the town of Eygus, I usually suggest that people reset the game. The problem is that the apprentices in the early sections of the game are very difficult to beat. Usually you have to get EXTREMELY lucky in order to defeat them. It would take you about 45 minutes to obtain the Wind Rune from the start of the game. It may take you in excess of five-six hours to beat this apprentice. If you remember to save the game each time you enter a town, you will be able to simply reset the game if you should lose your Rune. This will allow you to start from the last place saved. So, you should be able to prevent anyone from stealing your Runes.

In the Cave of Melename, I see a doorway, but there are some rocks blocking the entrance. How do I move these?

Travel to the Town of Zellis. Enter the inn and speak to the villager inside. His name is Brantu. Brantu will join your party as a third person and will open the rocks blocking the doorway. If Brantu will not join you, return to Bonro and get the Map from Gain.

How do I get the Water Rune from the Wizard of Guntz?

You must continue talking to the Wizard of Guntz until he agrees to trade you the Water Rune for some water. Next, travel to the Village of Pell; in the tavern, you will find a villager named Digger. Once he has joined your party, travel back to Guntz and Digger will bring water. The Wizard will now give you the Water Rune.

I keep hearing about a secret entrance in the Town of Patrof. Where is this entrance and will it allow me to enter the Castle?

If you search each of the tombstones in Patrof, you will find one that reads: "Do Not Disturb." Stand beneath this tombstone and push your control pad up. The tombstone will move, revealing a secret stairway. Yes, this stairway will lead you into the Castle.

There is a rock in the Cave of Milto that I can't seem to move. How do I move this rock?

You must have three Runes to start this process. Enter the Town of Bone and look for a little Boy. If you talk to the Boy, he will ask you a question about Bonro. If you answer "No," he will either give you a Remote Control or ask you to take him to Bonro. The Remote Control will open the rock in the Cave of Milto. If you take to Boy to Bonro, his Uncle will arrange for you to take a boat ride. Both of these options accomplish basically the same thing. If you get one, you will not get the other.

I defeated the Dragon in the Village of Luze. The game tells me that the Rune has been stolen. How can I find it?

Since there is no way of preventing the theft of this Rune, you need to try and locate the apprentice who stole it. Trying returning to the Towns you have visited already via the Wind Rune. Once inside a Town, step outside. Look in your Crystal Ball located in the upper left corner of the screen. If the circle representing the town is flashing, the thief is in that town.

How can I enter the Tower of Grime?

If you have Olvan as your main character, travel to the Town of Bone. Once on Bone, walk to the bottom right corner. Here you will find an old man who will give you the Key of Brilliance. If you don't have Olvan, don't worry. In the upper right corner of the continent you will find the North Tower. In this Tower the is a Flashing Square. If you step on this Square, you will be teleported into the Tower of Grime.

How can I find the Cave of Laosu?

From the Village of Padal, walk south until you reach the mountains. Now walk west along the mountains and you will enter the Cave of Laosu. The entrance is invisible!

I defeated the Serpent Lady in the Castle of Baran. Prosa, the commander promised me the Moon Rune if I defeated her. Now when I talk to him, he asks me to find Pegim and will not give me the Rune! Why?

Return to the Village of Zellis. In the tavern talk with everyone and you will locate Pegim. Now return to Prosa and he will give you the Moon Rune.

I can't seem to find a way through the Flames in Bilthem Castle

When you enter the Castle, immediately go left and walk up the staircase. Now walk south to the wall and go left. Look for a narrow hallway leading up. Take this hallway to the top and go left. Take the staircase down. Now you will enter the flames from the right hand side. You should find a narrow passage through them.

OK, so I made it through the flames and found Doros, but I can't beat him because he splits into three.

Follow the direction above. Except instead of entering the flames, continue walking down until you find a staircase leading down. Here you will find a Wooden Table. Push the Table and you will find a Key. To the left of this Table you will notice a Jail Cell. Open the Jail Cell and release the Old Man being held prisoner. He will give you an item called: Star. Use this item on Doros and you will be able to defeat him.

I made it to Brush, and Brantu won't let me in the basement. What am I supposed to do?

First, you need to have six Runes. If you are missing one or more Runes, read through the above sections again and find which one you missed. If you have not missed any, it is likely that an apprentice challenged you to a fight, defeated you and took your Runes. If this has happened to you, you need to travel from town to town, looking for the apprentice. Once you have six Runes, return to Brush and speak with the Fortune Teller. Now speak to Brantu and he will fly you to the next continent.

I am at the next continent and I lost my magic. I have also found Gorfun the main Boss but he disappears, what am I doing wrong?

You need to locate the Moonlight. The Moonlight is located in a cave southwest of Guanta. In this cave you will face Metal Pison. After defeating him you will locate the Moonlight in a Treasure Chest. Return to Guanta and someone will remove the curse restoring your magic. When you face Gorfun, use Moonlight on him when he disappears.

I have received the seven Runes again! Where do I go now?

Walk to the upper right corner of the continent, here you will find the Final Castle and Gorsia waits within!

How do I fight the Apprentices?

Fighting other apprentices is difficult because they're always built up to about the same level your character is, but you can gain the advantage by memorizing their attack patterns. They vary, but each uses the same pattern when fighting the same opponent. When you first fight, survive as long as you can and write down their pattern of attack so you'll know how to plan for your next bouts. Enemy apprentices might use healing spells as extra steps, but they'll return to their regular patterns in the next rounds.

Where do I fin the Apprentice who stole the Sky Rune?

Use the Wind Rune to warp from town to town, looking for the apprentice thief who took the Sky Rune. At each town, step outside and look at the town in your crystal ball. If it looks normal, warp to a new town, but if it flashes, there is a Rune to be found in the town. Enter and save your game at the Inn, then search the town for the apprentice who took the Sky Rune. You'll have to defeat him or her to get the Rune.

How do I use the Runes against Gorsia?

When you reach Gorsia in the Castle of Gorfun, you must use the seven Runes in a particular order before you attack. Use them in the following order: Wizard, Light, Water, Star, Moon, Wind and finally Sky. Using them in any other order will be ineffective. Attack after using the Runes.
