WCW vs. NWO: World Tour

Get the game at Amazon.com!

Reviewed by Calvin The first wrestling game for the n64 turned out to be a pretty cool game. It has a majority of the players from both the WCW and NWO including special other wrestlers that show up after you beat the different leagues. The wrestlers that will be available are Diamond Dallas Page, The "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Glacier, Wrath, Joe Bruiser, and Black Widow. Game play is realistic, it includes being able to use foreign objects, throwing your opponent out of the ring, banging their head on the turnbuckles or guard rails, and being able to double team your opponent's.

Graphics 7 out of 10

The graphics turned out to be pretty impressive except for the fact that there are minor glitches with most of the holds, which all the games have. The wrestlers signature moves realistic, as are their posing moves and wrestling style. When the wrestlers bleed, the blood has a real look to it. The appearance of the wrestlers are great, you can even change the uniforms.

Music and Sound 6 out of 10

The music wasn't very impressive. It lacked a variety different themes. It just seemed to play the same music over and over. The sounds turned out to be good, although there was some repetition with the sounds. The sounds made during a punch, kick, slam, or hitting an opponent with a steel chair were good. It would have been better if the sounds were more realistic and if they varied a little bit.

Game Challenge 8 out of 10

There was a great amount of challenge from the computer when the difficulty level was on hard and the handicap was all the way up. The competition from the different wrestlers was based on how hard they actually wrestle.

Game Play-Fun 7 out of 10

The playing was ok, you have lots of things you can do during the game. Beating up your opponent with chairs or bats can keep you busy for a while. Trying to make your opponent bleed can be challenging. Just giving your opponent a good beating can also keep you busy for a long time.

Rumble Pak 6 out of 10

Being able to feel the slams and moves was ok but there wasn't anything very impressive about it. It helps somewhat with getting into the game but not much.

Frustration

Sometimes the computer gets a few cheap shots in or makes comebacks when it shouldn't be able to. Other than that everything seems to be ok. You wouldn't be expecting the computer to just let you beat it up.

Replayability 7 out of 10

There are lots of different moves or scenarios you can carry out. It will keep you busy or interested for pretty long time, it is great to play when there is nothing else to do. It will last you a long time.

Game Value 6 out of 10

If you really like wrestling, this is a good game to buy. It is worth paying somewhere in the 60 dollar range for it. If you don't really like wrestling you will get bored with the game after a while, try renting the game first.

Overall 7 out of 10

Overall I give this game a rating of 7 out of 10. I hope next time they will include more of the real wrestlers. The game would also be better if the wrestlers had a wider variety of moves.
