Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

Get the game at Amazon.com!

Reviewed by Psycho Piccolo This game is the best for the Nintendo 64 yet, it has the awesome multi player mode that Goldeneye has, yet it features an even more vast environment more challenge. Even Port of Adia, the first level, can turn an expert gamer into a novice again. In fact, the multi player mode is better than Goldeneye! This game overmatches Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong 64, Jet Force Gemini, and other great games. Quite frankly, this the best game I have played for any Nintendo system. The realism of the animation may make squeamish players vomit! The weapons looks awesome. The cheats are very creative. This is the only multi player game, besides Goldeneye, that features a challenging AI. The monsters, especially in later levels, are very smart and will occasionally ambush you or use some other killer strategy.

Graphics 100 out of 100

The graphics without the Expansion Pak are equal to the those of Goldeneye. With the Expansion Pak, the Graphics are flawless. When Turok shoots a creature in a certain part, you can actually see that part getting blown off! The blood splatters everywhere, making the game super realistic. In fact, if you are Squeamish, you might want to turn off the blood and avoid shooting a creature in the head. I've seen the creatures get their heads blown off quite a few times! The first day I played this game, I had a nightmare that I was one of the creatures and I got my head blown off by Turok. If you shoot rapidly, the creature will actually explode. You get to see these awesome animations even without the Expansion Pak. The EP just enhances these animations. Again, a squeamish player should play without the EP (or maybe not play at all). It is very easy to see why this game received an "M" rating. This game is possibly scarier than Scream! The graphics and animations are probably the strong point of the game.

Music and Sound 98 out of 100

The sound effects are awesome. The explosions really rock. The music sounds goes very well with the game. If you have stereo sound, then turn it up to the max, because you're going to get a huge experience with sound and music! The enemy grunts are very scary sounding. Turok's grunts might be a little annoying, but they're realistic. The sounds of the shots may make it actually seem like Turok is in the room shooting you as you play. This is enhanced with the Rumble Pak. Overall, the only ever so slight flaw in the sound may be Turok's grunts.

Game Challenge 100 out of 100

Any game where can take up to a week for an expert gamer to complete the first level is obviously very challenging. If you're looking for a challenge, then this is the game. The AI is very smart. As mentioned in the introduction, tougher enemies may ambush you and make every attempt they can to outsmart you. The AI put a quite a bit of strategy into this game as well. You also need to have the desire to explore everywhere like in a Final Fantasy or Zelda game. Leaving one square inch unexplored can leave to missing a whole bunch of cool stuff. This is the kind of game that does not have a frustrating challenge because of the play control of the computer "cheating." The challenge is thinking and strategy. You need a brain and good hand-eye coordination to do well with this game. The challenge in this game is perfect.

Game Play-Fun 100 out of 100

Perfect. Absolutely no flaws or anything wrong with the game play. This game contains endless fun, looking for hidden passages and blowing off monsters' heads. In fact, sometimes I just like to do nothing but stand there and shoot the monsters. Of course, it should be a long time before you do this, because it's going to be a long time if you ever manage complete this game. Of course, I prefer RPG and Zelda type games, but this even has a little bit of that in it. I do like first-person shooters, but most of them suck. Again, the realism in the graphics leads up to extended fun in this game. (Yes, it's blowing off heads and stuff like that.) Anybody who doesn't love this game must be on drugs. Of course, if you are younger player, than its understandable. But even younger players will enjoy this game, just not as much as older players. I'd reccomend this game to any player who doesn't mind realistic blood and gore. Again, because of the different elements of this game, you don't have to be a fan of action or first-person shooters to love this game.

Rumble Pak 100 out of 100

It's kind of hard get much out of the Rumble Pak, but this is as far as you're going to be able to go. The Rumble Pak enhances that realistic feel of the game. If you're squeamish, than don't use it. Not much to say about the category, but any game that's Rumble Pak compatible is almost guaranteed a perfect score in this category.

Frustration

Really nothing at all. The jumping was fixed from the original Turok. The jumping's not perfect, but it's still not any problem at all.

Replayability 100 out of 100

The vastness of this game give it excellent replay value. Once you finally beat the game, you can do what I do and just watch the monsters go by-bye. Of course, you'd be better off annialating your friends in the multi player mode. Find out more details about the awesome multi player mode in the Multi player Section. Overall, this game may never slip out of you grip.

Game Value 100 out of 100

This one's a no-brainer. You can buy it preowned for around 20 bucks. Of course, there's nothing wrong with a preplayed Nintendo 64 game if it uses a Memory Card. It still worth the full price of around 40 to 50 bucks, though.

Innovation 97 out of 100

You can't really make any innovations in this type of game. The multi player mode is the first one that lets you costumize it in-depth. That's about all I can say about innovation, perfect.

Multi player Mode 100 out of 100

I could tell you all the details of the multi player mode, but that would take forever. I'll just tell you the basics. You choose which level you play in, choose the texture, select four different modes, set a timer, set handicaps, and much more. Again, this multi player mode has everything possible in it. The weapons are very cool as well. I love the Charge Darts! A perfect multi player mode for a perfect game.

Overall 100 out of 100

This is the best game for any Nintendo system. You can't go wrong with this baby. The conclusion is basically a rewording of the introduction. If you can stand blood and gore, then this game is for you. I guarantee that this will be one of the best, if not, the best game you have ever played. This is the only game that I think will ever receive a perfect overall score.
