Reviewed by Jeff Kazen Graphics: 9.5: Beautifully rendered scenery, with details to the pine needle on trees, to bullet holes in glass and on walls, to the blood stained leg of your opponent, this game has one thing in mind when it comes to graphics: Detail. Although in some scenes James Bond looks more like Arnold than Pierce Brosnan, and those features on some of the characters can look a tad bit polygon-ish, along with some quirks with some features showing up weird, the game is perfect in graphics. Sound: 10.0: The sound is so realistic, you'll wonder who brought the PP7 into your house, or where the explosion occurred. From the characteristic ricochet off a nearby wall to the thud when your target hits the ground, this game is as close as you can get without actually shooting your friends with a gun. Music: 7.5: Where the music fails, the Sound makes up for it. Although there are some nice songs, there are few and they repeat often, similar to SOTE. There are some good theme songs and other appropriate songs, but other than that this category tends to lag behind the rest. Play Control: 9.7: What can I say? The analog joystick makes for the finest precision targeting, and the combination of strafe and aim can make nice circles around your target while keeping them in the cross-hairs. The only down parts to the control is the slow turning rate while aiming, along with not being able to move while aiming. Challenge: 10.0: This game has something for everyone. Agent mode for the novice, then Secret Agent for the trained marksman, and then the extremely difficult 00 Agent mode for that gun-toting agent of death. It has something to satisfy everyone, and the levels are fine-tuned to be a perfect balance between too hard and too easy. Theme/Fun/Satisfaction: 9.9: From the characters to the areas, this game takes theme all the way. And what's more fun than putting a bullet in the back of your friend's head? This game is very pleasing to all the senses, except smell and taste, of course (Assuming you have the rumble pack). The only thing keeping this rating from a 10 is no place where Bond says, "Shaken, not stirred." Multiplayer: 10.0: You thought playing Quake over the net was good, wait until you play multiplayer Goldeneye! With tons of options, from teams, capture the flag, and License to Kill (where every shot kills), along with many different weapons to choose from, this game has it all when it comes to 2 or more players. The frame rate is excellent, and not a single detail is missing when playing with 4 players (unlike Wave Race that misses the water effects in multi-mode). You'll never get tired of blowing your friends to bits with those proximity mines (although you will get tired of blowing yourself to bits with them). Replayability: 8.0: Well, when you beat this game on 00 Agent, that's basically it. However, there's always multi-player mode to satisfy yourself. And there's the cheats to get in each level too. Not bad, but not as good as other games.

Overall: 9.5: I'd have to say it's the best game available today, with excellent scores in every category. It's not perfect, so I can't give it a 10. Besides, there's bound to be even better games in the near future, and what would they get? (I personally do not believe in 11's)

Overall: 9.5

Take the roll of James Bond in his quest to rid the Janus Syndicate of their powerful weapons and foil their evil schemes. Sounds simple? Think again. To do so, you must go through 20 levels full of automatic weapon-toting commandos with one thing on their mind: Put as much lead into your body as possible. You get past them? You still have to solve the endless puzzles and work your way through huge levels that you can get lost in before you even move. Think that's all? Think again. Tired of putting bullets through enemy heads? Why not put them through up to three of your friends' heads? With tons of different options in multi player mode, you'll never play the same game twice.
