The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX

Get the game at Amazon.com!

Reviewed by Banjo This review is for the Game Boy Color version of the classic 4th Zelda game. The only things that being the DX version I reviewed will affect is the graphics (can you guess why?) and the challenge, a little. (Because some extra text was added, which sometimes practically explains to you how to beat a boss) This game basically rocks, and when I played it one Super Game Boy, my sister actually thought I was playing a new hidden part on A Link To The Past. (Which makes two points: A) My sister isn't the brightest person ever to walk the face of this earth, and b) The gameplay equals and/or rivals most Super NES games.

Graphics 10 out of 10

Awesome!! Remember that I reviewed the DX version. The graphics rock!! They are exactly the same as the SNES version. They flow nicely, and the simplicity of them doesn't make them any worse.

Music and Sound 9 out of 10

Not perfect, but close. Every game I review will get a decent score in everything, because I won't review a game unless it's worth spending my time on. But, still, Zelda earned this score. The sound effects and music are cool, and when you play the Ballad Of The Wind Fish for the Wind Fish's Egg with all the instruments, it plays it again and sounds awesome!!

Game Challenge 10 out of 10

The second RPG I ever played, (Zelda 64 was the first. Stop laughing now.) it is pretty challenging later on. I haven't beat the Face Shrine yet, but I did the Level 2 Power Bracelet from it. Pretty challenging over all, this game may take a while for the less experienced(i.e., me) to complete.

Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10

The main fun is hunting down every last seashell and heart container, and the bosses are very fun to play against. Not much to say here.

Frustration

Can get very frustrating if you can't find that last key, or need the compass to help you in hunting down treasure chests, but can't find it. Not overly frustrating, so don't worry.

Replayability 8 out of 10

Once I beat it, I doubt I'll have much fun replaying it. (except to write my walkthrough for it) Not much more to say.

Game Value $90 out of $30

Worth more than the price. I like hunting down every last picture. (DX version only) I also like trying to get all the seashells.

Overall 10 out of 10

Well, this game is fun. I love it. I don't know about you, but I think it's cool. I'm getting annoying, huh? Too bad. Buy this game right now, or I'll strangle you. (Not really, I just wanted to scare you into buying it, so you don't miss out on it. DARN!! I just blew my cover!)
