Street Fighter 2

Get the game at Amazon.com!

Reviewed by Marilyn Manson This is one of the best arcade to system translations ever, but this time, it is on Game Boy! I think Capcom did the right thing and putting Street Fighter 2 on the Game Boy because I travel a lot and this is one of my favorite games. I love the fact that I can bring Street Fighter II anywhere I want to.

Graphics 9 out of 10

The graphics are very detailed because the Game Boy has a pixelated screen which gives it sharper graphics than any other system, except N64 of course! The detail in every character is basically carbon-copy from Super Street Fighter II. For example, how about their mugs in the character select screen, or the levels they play in. The drawback though is that they don't use very fluid animation in the game. What I mean is when you play Street Fighter 2 on Super NES, and you're Ryu throwing a fireball, it has the animation to make it look like it is real as opposed to Game Boy version, it doesn't.

Music and Sound 10 out of 10

The sound track is the best I have heard, in certain aspects, I think that some of the sound effects in the game are better than the Super NES version! Music in Game Boy, NES and Virtual Boy games can only use 5 instruments, however, Capcom sure knows how to make the level and ending music sound like a complete symphony orchestra. Back to the fx, when you use Blanka, you sometimes use the electricity move, eh? Well the sound effect on Game Boy, in my opinion, is better than any other game. You probably don't notice a difference in Hard and weak attacks in this game, but I do thanks to the sound effects made by Capcom. If you have the game, select sounds 02-05, you'll notice!

Game Challenge n/a

I give it a n/a because the level of challenge is selectable. However, the game does keep you challenged a bit in any level of difficulty. I mean, if you select 1, they are obviously not just gonna stand there and take the abuse, no, they will fight back but not hard.

Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10

This game is a must get, but if you are a true die hard fan of the series, you are going to notice a couple of things. How about the fact that the game actually has some SPEED! This game is kinda slow but the special move are easy to pull of. Also, you don't get the satisfaction of beat the snot out of a car, barrels and the brick wall but that's OK.

Replayability 10 out of 10

Oh yeah, baby! Without a doubt because you will love this game period. I am telling you, if you don't add this to your collection of games, you will defiantly miss out, dude/dudette! Of course if you like Mortal Kombat, you can go right ahead and purchase a game that is slower than a turtle, the guys don't fight back at you, and you won't have as much fun as Street Fighter 2.

Game Value 10 out of 10

Seeing as though I got this game for $10 at Wal-mart here in Canada, $6.81 American, I defiantly got my moneys worth, but if you see it for 33 dollars, 78 Canadian (yes that is right!), I would stop everything in the world to get it!

Service of the Company! 10 out of 10

I had a problem with one of my Capcom games and I E-mailed them as soon as I detected the problem. They E-mailed me back and I had fixed the problem with no hassles whatsoever! So, if you have a problem with Street Fighter 2, expect friendly and efficient support!

Overall 10 out of 10

Street Fighter 2 is the game to get for Game Boy, I can't stress that enough! I am begging you to get that game! If you like to beat up on people as you go along, but have in sort of slow motion, this is for you!
