Game and Watch Gallery 2

This is one of the first two games released with the debut of Game Boy
Color. Now, many of the younger gamers under the age of 18 may have no
clue as to what Game & Watch is. They were little portable units that had
a LCD game and a digital watch combined. Most of the ones I remembered
(I owned Parachute and Donkey Kong; both are included in this game) came
out in the early 80's. So, now you kids know something else that was Nintendo
was doing before the words NES, Zelda, and Rumble Pak were ever conceived.
Graphics 10 out of 10
This game really shows what the Game boy Color can do when playing the
Modern Modes of the games. Seeing Mario, Luigi, Peach, etc. in Color in great
backgrounds is true eye candy. While the Classic Mode may make some of you
choke, they do look perfectly like their original units. Also, if you don't own
a Game boy Color and you really want to enjoy this game, get ready to shell
out $60-80 bucks for one, because this game does not deserve to be seen in grey.
Music and Sound 9 out of 10
The music is, in a word, cute. Take what you will from that. It's not annoying
to me at all. The sound is not bad at all either. Hearing Mario going through
the pipes, for example, is not bad whatsoever.
Game Challenge 8 out of 10
Timing is the challenge. Once you get the timing down, you'll succeed very
well. However, getting the timing down is another matter. The goal of the
game is to score 1,000 points of each mode and difficulty of the individual
games. Again, it's much more difficult than it sounds. The Gallery part the
game is the bonus. Earn Stars playing the games, and the amount you have
will unlock tips, secrets, music, and even a hidden game (maybe more). You'll
be wanting to earn more and more Stars, just to see what you'll unlock.
Game Play-Fun 6 out of 10
Some of the games are fun. Donkey Kong is still addicting to me very much.
However, some games get boring fast. If you aren't into simplistic, nostalgic
gameplay, you'll probably be looking for another cart to play. The Gallery adds
to the fun. Every time you earn a certain number of Stars, the more you can
access in the Gallery. One interesting feature is that if you pause during a
game and shut your Game boy off, when you turn it back on, you can pick up
exactly where you left off.
Frustration
The timing is the most frustrating part. If you slip up once, you're dead. Also,
it seems that in each game, an obstacle in particular to the game will appear
too frequently. This happens most when your just below 100, 200, 300, etc.
points. However, you'll be able to give a sigh of relief once you pass this number
barrier for a few seconds.
Replayability 7 out of 10
Once you have earned approximately 120 Stars, you've pretty much unlocked
the Gallery completely (or have you?). However, this game will keep you hooked
for a while. However, a while will pass, but you fell a sense of relief knowing
you conquered a setting of a game. Now, you have 3 more to go, so get to it.
Game Value 7 out of 10
If you like the Game & Watch series, or are looking for something to challenge
your sense of timing and reflexes, buy this game! If you think these games are
too simplistic, you may want to at least borrow it off a friend. This game is a
must try!

Even though in a year from its release, this game will end up for sale in
bargain bins, paper ads, etc., it is a nice game for now. Classic gamers will
enjoy living their childhood playing the classic and modern versions of those
old LCD games. By the way, there is no actual "Watch", so you'll still need one
on your wrist.
