Shortcuts

Sent in by Douglas Wynn For a HUGE shortcut in the sunset sands track, drive until you can see the first sets of vertical pillars, (they are not the natural rock ones in the canyon, they appear when out on the open desert) SLOW DOWN, there will be a path off to the left. Drive down this path and follow it making sure you make it across all the jumps. You will now be in a greenish room, go through the set of round stone "gates" and this will open up a HUGE jump in the room with "glassy" floors. Follow the road you are on until you reach this room, then hit a nitro box and hit the jump STRAIGHT on. You will jump onto a platform and there will be another jump in front of you, hit this then when you land, HIT THE BRAKES!! Continue on slowly and when you are on top of a red circle stop, and honk your horn. This will act as an elevator and will bring you down to an underground track and it will bring you way out in front.
Sent in by Code Hunter Metro Madness - When you are at the Ghetto area on Beetle Adventure Racing, (the place where the big pillars are in the middle and the sides are slanted.), pass two pillars and when you see the blockades, go up either the very left or the very right sides and you will see openings in the blockade. Keep following the path and make the jump at the end. This is a great shortcut! Sunset Sands - When racing through the inside of the temple that has exits on both the left and right sides, stay straight - grab a nitro box and jump the pit of lava. You'll land atop a structure with a large red octagon. BRAKE! and stop your beetle over it. Honk your horn and a secret elevator will bring you down to a cool shortcut that will get you ahead of the crowd in no time. Mount Mayhem - Make your way to Mount Mayham. When you start stay to the right and follow the road until you get to the first snowy part without a fence. Right next to the road there will be a jump. Jump it. Go through the garage door looking thing . You can follow the road to the end and fly off the cliff and get some serious air or you can go to the end and then turn right a go down a pathway. Then you will go down ski jump and land in a half pipe, which is a shortcut that takes you to the big oval turn. Theater in Metro Madness - After you have got off the highway in Metro Madness, and you have passed the gas station go straight even though the arrows tell you to turn. Look for the big vertical sign that says "Theater" and crash through the glass. Now you are inside a movie theater! First you will go through the snack bar then you will speed through the main aisle and crash through the screen! This isn't really a shortcut but it's fun to go through. Click here

Hidden ramp

Sent in by Code Hunter In SunsetSands, at the beginning of the race when the ramp launches you onto the regular track, drive down the track until the next turn and then make a left into the sand. Keep driving and soon you will see a path that you can drop into. Follow the path. You will make two jumps and then it will take you up a ramp into a large room. Make sure you run into the giant wooden log sticking out until it moves out of the way. Then once you get to the room with lava shooting all over, there will now be a ramp sticking up out of the floor. Get one of the nitros and go up the ramp.

Cheats option

Sent in by Douglas Wynn Go to 1 player mode and select "Championship". Race on Coventry Cove and find the shortcut with the barn and 2 haypiles. Run straight into the haypile closest to the road and you should hit a box. You will here someone say "Groovy!" if you hit it. Finish the race and go to "Options". There will be an option called "Cheats" now.

How Many Beetles Do You want in Battle Mode

Sent in by Douglas Wynn To get the daisy box in sunset sands right when you start off take right up the hill and keep going until you jump. Over the jump there is the daisy box to access How Many Beetles Do You want in Battle Mode.

Choose between fisheye, mist, or flip

Sent in by Douglas Wynn In Coventry Cove there is a jump in the game just before you reach the mine shortcut and after you come out of the tunnel and start going around the turn. Jump off this ramp to an island that has stonehenge like structures on it. There is a cheat crate behind on of the back structures. Hit it and you will be able to choose between fisheye, mist, or flip using the cheat menu!

I come in peace

Sent in by Douglas Wynn To get the "I come in peace" Alien Beetle, beat the Expert Championship. Once you have completed Metro Madness, you will receive the super-fast rainbow-colored beetle.

Police Beetle

Sent in by Douglas Wynn In a nod to the Need for Speed franchise, EA has included a hidden Police Beetle in Beetle Adventure Racing -- but you'll have to work hard to get it. After beating the standard Championships, a new "Bonus" mode will open up. Beat this tough challenge (including Wicked Woods) to get the fastest car in the game, the Police Beetle.

Handicap - Two Player

Sent in by Douglas Wynn In Coventry Cove, go over the small wooden drawbridge towards the beginning of the course. Just after the drawbridge and before the crane is a white stone fence on the left. Follow the fence until you see a hole in it. Go through the hole in Championship mode to find a flower crate. This crate unlocks "Handicap - Two Player" on the cheat menu, allowing you to adjust the handicap to Off, Slow, Normal, Fast, or Insane.

Change the pace thet the ladybugs change color in beetle battle

Sent in by Douglas Wynn In Inferno Isle, if you go to the first shortcut on the right you will go into a cave. When you get to the open part of the cave where the bridge is, go off the bridge and land on the house, smashing it. Immediately slam on your brakes and stop. Look around on the platform and you will see a flower box that will open up a new cheat that will change the pace at which the ladybugs change color in beetle battle.

Sound your siren

Sent in by Douglas Wynn Once you have unlocked the Police Beetle, hold down the left C Button to sound your siren. If you get close, the other drivers will pull over to the side and stop their cars.

Turn off the map in battle mode

Sent in by Douglas Wynn On the Conventry Cove stage, the area where you there are arrows pointing right. Hang a quick left and you will jump and grab a box worth five points. Your car will then land on an island with stone fixtures. Up ahead you can see a ramp with a box worth two points. Behind the fixture on the left, (if you're going too fast you will miss it) you will find a flower box. Crash through the flower box and make your way to the end of the stage to unlock the code to turn off the map in battle mode.

Beetle Battle stages tip

Sent in by Douglas Wynn In order to get most of the Beetle Battle stages, you need to enter the Championship mode and try to smash all the bonus boxes on the respective tracks. You have to collect all 100 points to unlock a new battle stage. All the battle stages are directly based on their track counterparts. Note that it is not necessary that you come in first in the races, but your points are not counted if you are disqualified. Use the Police Beetle to get the tracks. It's fast -- and you can force cars to pull over and take your time to collect the boxes.

Time Limits cheat

Sent in by Douglas Wynn To activate the Time Limits cheat in the Beetle Battle cheat menu, race on Inferno Isle until you get to the burning village, right in front of the finish line is a small path leading to the left. Ram the house on that path and grab the crate, and you'll add another cheat to the cheat menu.

Two groovy boxes

Sent in by Douglas Wynn To find two groovy boxes go to inferno isle. To get the first one, follow the track until you get to the first jungle area, soon after that you will see a dirt road jutting off the road on the right. Go down the road and a bit after that when there is a yellow glow look to your right there will bee a small rain forest hut and a ramp leading to it with a way to get 10 bonus points. Go to the ramp and just before you hit the ramp hold down B and as soon as you hit the house which will shatter hold down Down-C to. Hopefully you will stop on the grayish platform. Turn around to your right and you should see a red flower box. Hit it, you should then hear the word groovy, then press L to safely get to the main road. This may slow you up a bit but you should be able to catch up if you're good at taking short cuts. To get the second groovy box enter the town either from the dirt road or the main track. after making the first wide turn aim right while jumping off the ramp right under the arch. You'll see a flat roof land on it and turn around to your right and hit the groovy box you'll hear the word groovy then press L to quickly make it to the main road again.

Unlock the ? options box

Sent in by Douglas Wynn This tip unlocks the ? options box on 2 Player Battle Mode (use cheat mode to access). Head round the Coventry cove course, just past one of the bridges, is a jump to the left, jump over in to a look-a-like-stonehenge, next to one of the big stones, is another 'groovy' box, this will unlock the ? box in player 2 battle mode.

Variations of the New Beetle

Sent in by Douglas Wynn To unlock variations of the New Beetle, such as the Racing Beetle, 4x4 Beetle and "Number 8," simply beat the Championship Mode on Novice and Advanced. Beat the following two difficulty modes for the two bonus cars.

View Mode cheat

Sent in by Douglas Wynn To activate the View Mode cheat on the cheat menu, go to Inferno Isle. in the area that looks like a village, on the right side of the road is a house with a flat-looking roof. jump your beetle at an angle and land on the roof. then go into reverse and break the Daisy Crate hidden there to activate the View Mode cheat under options. you will be able to select Normal, Fisheye and Tunnel view modes.

Jump start

Sent in by Code Hunter To get a jump start, wait until the race is about to start. When it says "GO" immediately press L (the one at the top of the controller) to transport you to the same spot and you'll already be going 40-50 M.P.H.! This can be very helpful when trying to get ahead right away. Pressing L when racing is very useful too. Use it when you fall off a ledge before you blow up to save a lot of time or, when grabbing something way out of the way.

Metro Madness shortcut

Sent in by Code Hunter Chose Metro Madness track and any beetle. On Metro Madness, when you reach the Roman Palace hotel, right before it there is a jump you can go off. Then go right, off the roof of the hotel and you'll land on other roofs. What's cool about this is that it's like a whole new mini track. This shortcut is good on two player mode, to see if you can bash the other guy off the roofs and fall to their death.

Flower Box Locations

Sent in by Code Hunter Coventry Cove 1. Hay bush at farm closest to road. 2. In Stone Henge, between two poles. 3. Immediately after the draw bridge, stop and look to your left and you should see a small gap in the wall. Drive through it for the final flower box. Mt. Mayhem 1.After the Crystal cave, when you come up to the big jump, take the upper route. If you make it to the cave on the other side, take a right. Then after you get to the steel girder bridge, turn left sharply to a little cove next to the bridge. The flower box is there. 2. When driving through the town you have the option of going straight off the ledge or turning right, crashing through the glass window and driving down the ski ramp. Drive straight off the ledge but do it at an angle towards the left of the screen. When you land, hopefully it will be atop the snowy ledge and not the road. Turn around and search the area for the flower box. 3. Take the big jump that leads to the upper section of the largest cave. Take the right path and follow it until you pass over the bridge. Immediately after the bridge, stop and look to your left. Inferno Isle 1. Village Hut In Swamp in the first shortcut you see(a real shortcut!) 2. When driving through town, after coming off a ramp, land on one of the roofs and back up into the flower box. There will be three drop-offs that send you into the air, take the third and veer right as you take the jump. 3. Last Hut on course, isn't burned by lava, before finish line. Sunset Sands 1. At the very beginning of the level, look to your right for a place to drive up on the sand. Keep to the right and there will be a box right before a drop off that leads back to the path. 2. When you first come up to the village, take the first right through the center. I don't remember exactly where it's located but it shouldn't be too hard to find from there. I think it's partially hidden behind some boxes. 3. After taking the alternate road to the left, after jumping the ramp near the beginning of the level, make your way until you jump onto the black and white colored floor. Instead of driving up the ramp to the switch, turn right and drive to the far right corner where you'll find the last flower box. Metro Madness 1. When you come across the alternate path that leads to the train race, instead of turning left to race the train, turn right and follow the track until you reach the flower box. 2. Find the stairs that you can drive up which leads to a 2 point bonus box and to the roof of a building. Make the necessary right and straight ahead you'll see the pyramid shaped building. There will be a 5 point box at the edge of the path, but instead (with enough speed) drive off of the right corner and land on the roof of another building. There are many different routes to take (and several places to fall down to the street), but make sure you go straight, that is the direction you are oriented after you land the jump. To your left will be a wall, follow it but slow down when you see that it ends and turn left to the other side of it. Go straight until you hit the flower box that is located just before a drop off. 3. Make your way to the area that contains cement ramps on both sides of the road. Take the first right ramp then take the next and you should be coming up to a covered "bridge" on your left that crosses over the road 15 feet or so. Turn left into it and you'll be rewarded with the final flower box for the level. Wicked Woods 1. Take the left alternate route located immediately after the town. You'll come up to a nitro booster and then a ramp that jumps you across a small pond. Hovering in the air is the first flower box for this level. It may take some time to get your speed and orientation right to get this one so be patient. Your speed may need to be somewhere between 90 and 105. 2. To get the next box, drive up to the building that has a ramp that gives you major air through the center and has a 5 point box hovering at the opening just below the ceiling. When you come out of the other side, make a left U-turn and the box will be located next to the building.
