Third level boss tip

Sent in by Imrik On the 3rd level, the one with all the bombers. There is a way to beat the Boss without getting hurt, it would help to clear some of the many bombers but if you don't have time, you will get a little hurt. First get to the highest elevation you can and when your above the boss on your radar dive down and fire missiles and your gun, if you do it correctly he doesn't shoot back until you get close. Keep doing this until he dies.

Alternate paint job

Sent in by Nicholas "Uranus" Baehr, 1st Lt. At the plane selection screen press R to change the paint job. Note: This does not work on bonus planes. To change paint job's in Death Match mode hold down R and select your air craft.

Mission select

Sent in by Code Hunter During the intro scenes (when you see the jets fly) enter the following code: Up (D-Pad), C-Down, left, C-Right, down, C-Up, right, C-left, L, R, Z. You should now hear a chime to tell you the code worked. Now select Main Game and pick the mission you want -- from Tokyo to Space.

Hidden AAA

Sent in by Code Hunter When you start out in the cave, you start to go down. At the bottom there is a big open area. You have to get low and do half a loop, then twist yourself so you're not upside down. You might have to point the nose down a little and then you should see a grate. Fly through it without hitting it and you should see a little hole. Fly in it and your inside like a machine. Also before you go in the grate you can pull up and go to where you started. Fly out of the cave and there is AAA waiting you to blast you out of the sky! Click here

Spanky

Sent in by Code Hunter Find and complete all 3 bonus missions in the game and Spanky, a new pilot, will be enabled.

Mao Mao

Sent in by Code Hunter On the title screen, press: C-Left, C-Down, C-Right, C-Up, C-Left, C-Right, C-Down for Mao Mao.

12 planes

Sent in by Code Hunter For each normal mission you complete, a new plane will be added to the deathmatch plane select menu. If you have Mao Mao and Spanky, that will make 12 planes.

Ice Cave stage secret

Sent in by Code Hunter There is a secret stage after you win the Ice Cave stage. It waits for a player who can complete all three bonus stages and all seven regular stages.

Third bonus stage

Sent in by Code Hunter The third bonus stage is played after Fortress if you have already won the first two bonus stages.

Second bonus stage

Sent in by Code Hunter To reach the second bonus stage you will need to complete Tokyo, Pacific Ocean, and Air Battle very quickly. If it's sunset when you reach the Desert stage you're already too late to save the shuttle.

First bonus

Sent in by Code Hunter To reach the first bonus you must complete Tokyo and the Pacific Ocean stages with a very high score.

New F-15 plane with a girl pilot

Sent in by Code Hunter On the title screen, (full screen logo, and "Press Start") NOT the main menu screen, press the following buttons: C-Left, C-Down, C-Right, C-Up, C-Left, C-Right, C-Down. Don't be discouraged when you don't hear a sound or see something new, because nothing will happen. Go to any plane select screen, and on the far left, you will see a new F-15 plane with a girl pilot.

Alternate color

Sent in by Code Hunter Press R at the plane select screen. (Only works in Main Game and Boss attack) To select the alternate color in Death Match, Hold the R button while selecting your plane. (Only works for the four original planes.)

Moves List

Sent in by Code Hunter Padlock View When in Trail or Cockpit View, tap the button on the control pad. Padlock will lock onto targets in the following order: 1. Nearest Enemy Fighter 2. Enemy Boss 3. Enemy Support Vehicle 4. Friendly Boss 5. Nearest Friendly Fighter Press right on the Control Pad to lock onto the Nearest Enemy Fighter, left to lock onto the nearest Enemy Support Vehicle and top to lock onto the Enemy Boss. When dogfighting another plane, Padlock the target and turn hard for position. When you're pointing at the target, engage Trail or Cockpit View for more precise gunsight tracking. Culbit and Cobra Pull a dramatic ÔCulbit,' or backflip, in the ultra-aerodynamic SU-35, FS-X or X-29. Tap the Control Stick back and press the Down C Button. Tap the Control Stick down again and tap the Up C Button. Hold the stick back and you'll flip. If you release the Control Stick after the second tap, you'll drop and slow dramatically. This move, called a ÔCobra,' is a great way to shake an enemy breathing down your neck. Once you master the Cobra, try firing on the aircraft chasing you. Don't try either move near the ground, or it could be your last! Rudder Reversal Make a fast turn in a slow aircraft, such as the F-14B, by lifting your nose at least 30 degrees, engaging your air brakes and tapping the Left or Right C button twice. With this move, you'll be skating the razor-edge of your craft's controllability. Once you commit to a Rudder Reversal, though, follow it through to the end!

Bosses

Sent in by Code Hunter Tokyo (Super Walker X) 1. Take out the four escort fighters. 2. Take out the Super Walker X's escorting helicopters. 3. Attack Super Walker X by dive-bombing it. Stay above 600 feet to avoid some of Super Walker X's weapons. Try saving the Special Weapons for the boss. 4. The meter in the upper right hand corner will go down when it is being damaged. Alternate Method: If the time limit runs out, the Metropolitan Building will turn into a super weapon and defeat Super Walker X automatically. Pacific Ocean (Leviathan) 1. Take out the four escort fighters. 2. Attack Leviathan by dive-bombing it. Stay above 400 feet to avoid some of Leviathan's weapons. Try saving the Special Weapons for the boss. 3. Halfway through the attack, Leviathan will appear to sink. It's just submerging. When it surfaces, helicopters will be escorting it. Take them out. 4. Continue dive-bombing Leviathan until it is destroyed. Note: If you score more than 1,700,000 points on this level, you will go to Air Landing Bonus Stage. Air Landing (Bonus Stage) This mission is easy. There are green lines that extend out from an opening in Goliath. The opening can be hard to see. Get the aircraft within all four lines and slow it down. Note: The default button for the air brake is C Down. Getting to this stage: You have to have a total of 1,700,000 points when you complete the Pacific Ocean to get to this bonus stage. To do this, shoot down the fighters and helicopters as quickly as possible in Tokyo. Then attack and take out Super Walker X as quickly as possible to maximize the time bonus. In the Pacific Ocean, shoot down all aircraft as quickly as possible. Attack the frigates to protect your wingmen. The subs are mostly harmless. Finally, focus your attacks on Leviathan. The objective is to get all three wingmen to survive. Note: If Air Landing and Shuttle Defense stages are completed, then the Goliath Defense Bonus Stage will open after the Fortress is destroyed. Air Battle (Spriggan) 1. Take out the four escort fighters. 2. Take out the three B-2s that are directly behind Spriggan. 3. Get behind Spriggan and fly as slowly as possible. Shoot directly at the two engines. Try saving the Special Weapons for the boss. Note: Some people find it easier to ram Spriggan than trying to speed up and make another pass at it. Monument Valley (Bazeel) 1. Take out the four Escort Fighters. 2. Take out the small tanks next to Bazeel. There are a lot of tanks in this level, but the only ones that matter are the ones that are near Bazeel. 3. Dive-bomb Bazeel. Stay above 600 feet to avoid some of Bazeel's weapons. - Or- Get directly behind Bazeel and very low to the ground. Its armor seems to be weaker from the rear. 4. Try saving the Special Weapons for the boss. Note: If Bazeel is destroyed before you reach 1,400 seconds total game time, you will go to the Shuttle Defense Bonus Stage. Shuttle Defense (Bonus Stage) Description: In the middle of the desert, you must defend the Space Shuttle from attacking tanks and helicopters. You will not have the support of your wingman. Time: You have to protect the shuttle for 300 seconds. The quicker you can destroy the enemy units, the more points you can score. The meter in the upper left will let you know if the shuttle is being damaged. Getting to this stage: You have to have completed all the previous stages in less than 1,400 seconds (23.33 minutes) total game time. To reach this goal, you must practice taking out targets quickly. Note: If the Air Landing and Shuttle Defense stages are completed, then the Goliath Defense Bonus Stage will open up after the Fortress is destroyed Fortress 1. Take out the enemy fighters. 2. Take out the four force-field generators as quickly as possible. This will allow the wingmen to hit targets in the main valley. The generators are near the four corners of the mission area. 3. Take out the defenses in the valley, but don't focus too much on the defenses immediately around the main building. When most of the defenses have been destroyed, the Fortress super weapon will become active. 4. Try saving the Special Weapons for the Fortress. Continue attacking it until it is destroyed. Goliath Defense (Bonus Stage) Down the helicopters as quickly as possible to score extra points. Practice making all shots count. Getting to this stage: To get to this bonus stage, both Shuttle Defense and Air Landing Bonus Stages have to be completed. Note: If you complete the Goliath Defense stage, you can access the Space Bonus Stage after defeating LAR in the Ice Cave Antarctic Ocean 1. This is a simple dogfight stage. The more practice you have had dogfighting, the easier this stage will be. 2. Since there isn't a boss in this stage, feel free to use the aircraft's Special Weapons on the fighters. 3. There are three alien craft hanging out here. Defeating them is not needed to finish the level, but taking out one or two will improve your chances of survival. Ice Cave (LAR) 1. Follow the left-hand wall of the cave to find LAR. 2. Don't waste much time on the little enemies in the cave. If you get them on the first pass, great. If not, leave them alone. They won't bother you later. 3. Save the Special Weapons for the boss. 4. LAR's weak spot is marked by a red box on the aircraft's HUD. Shoot it mercilessly. Note: If all previous bonus stages (Air Landing, Shuttle Defense and Goliath Defense) have been completed, a final bonus stage, Space, will open up. Space (Pandora) 1. Take out escorting alien craft. 2. Save the Special Weapons for the boss. 3. Pandora's weak spot is marked by a red box on the aircraft's HUD. Shoot it mercilessly. All previous bonus stages (Air Landing, Shuttle Defense and Goliath Defense) have to be completed to reach this stage.
