All that happens after you beat the Sorn, is the Arch-Mage gives 
you an item which when you go to the castle gbli-gedock (or 
what ever) is there and asks if you want the character holding 
the item to have it inscribed into his/hers spell book then after 
that is answered you see all the npc's and the staff.
