Uncharted Waters

The game ends when you rescue the Princess. You don't even have to be
at the rank of Duke in order to win the game. When you rescue the Princess,
just go to the castle in Lisbon, and visit the King. Then the following
scenes take place.
You are shown walking down the isle to where the King and the Princess
are waiting. Then, the following is shown:
KING: Sir (your name), my thanks for saving Christiana! In addition you
have routed the pirates! You are truly the bravest of them all.
YOU: You are too kind.
KING: There are no words that can express my appreciation. I shall award
you as you please. Ask me for anything. What do you want?
[**NOTE: YOU HAVE A CHOICE BETWEEN LAND, HONOR, PRINCESS, OR
REFUSING. THERE ARE DIFFERENT ENDINGS DEPENDING ON WHICH ONE YOU PICK]

1. **LAND ENDING**
YOU: If I owned a piece of land in my own country, I would be more than
satisfied.
KING: You desire land to support your noble rank? Let's see... I know!
Alcobaca the land of your ancestors will do. From here on you shall be
known as Lord of Alcobaca.
YOU: This honor is more than I deserve. I humbly accept. This will restore
dignity to my family name.
KING: Yes. By the way, as you know, I do not have a son. Thus there is no
heir to my throne. But how about you? Will you marry Christiana and be
my successor?
YOU: Wha-?
PRINCESS: How wonderful! (Blush!)
KING: You may decide. I hope you will accept my offer. What is your reply?
[**NOTE: NO MATTER WHICH YOU PICK, YOU WILL HAVE TO PICK "ACCEPT",
SO GO FOR IT!]
YOU: I am incapable of such a task, but if you wish... To the Princess and
to Portugal I devote my life!
PRINCESS: Oh (your name)! ---you and Princess hold hands---
KING: You two seem glad! There must be some hidden charm here! Now I
can retire in peace. Oh-ho-ho!
2. **HONOR ENDING**
YOU: I have long wanted to restore my family name.
KING: Easily done. I dub you Lord of Alcobaca. Your title will restore the
glory of your ancestors.
YOU: This is too great an honor for me. I humbly accept.
KING: Yes. By the way, as you know, I do not have a son. Thus there is no
heir to my throne. But how about you? Will you marry Christiana and be
my successor?
YOU: Wha-?
PRINCESS: How wonderful! (Blush!)
KING: You may decide. I hope you will accept my offer. What is your reply?
[Choose "Accept"]
YOU: I am incapable of such a task, but if you wish... To the Princess and
to Portugal I devote my life!
PRINCESS: Oh (your name)! ---you and Princess join hands---

3. **PRINCESS ENDING**
YOU: I desire Princess Christiana's hand in marriage.
PRINCESS: Oh my! (your name)! ---you and Princess join hands---
KING: There must be a greater power at work here. Yet, my daughter is
my only child. I had planned for her to marry into Spain... ---Princess
turns towards King---
PRINCESS: Father, please! I can marry no one but (your name)!
KING: Hmm...
YOU: She will always be happy with me. Sire, please!
KING: Then it's settled. Sir (your name), I will transfer the reigns of
power to you!
YOU: Wha-? Your Majesty!
PRINCESS: I'm so happy! Thank you, Father!
YOU: I will strive for Christiana and the good of Portugal.
---you and Princess join hands again---
KING: As of this day you are King of Portugal. My blessings are with you.
Oh-ho-ho!
4. **REFUSE ENDING**
YOU: My labors were for my ancestors and for the Princess. I desire
nothing in return.
KING: I see. You are a generous man.
YOU: Thank you. I must take my leave here. ---you start walking away---
PRINCESS: (your name)! Wait!
YOU: Christiana! ---you and Princess join hands---
KING: What's this? You must be hiding something from me.
YOU: Your Majesty, I beg for your understanding.
KING: Yet, my daughter is my only child. I had planned for her to marry
into Spain... ---Princess turns toward King---
PRINCESS: Father, please! I can marry no one but (your name)!
KING: Hmm...
YOU: She will always be happy with me. Sire, please!
KING: Then it's settled. Sir (your name), I will transfer the reigns of
power to you!
YOU: Wha-? Your Majesty!
PRINCESS: I'm so happy! Thank you, Father!
YOU: I will strive for Christiana and for the good of Portugal. ---you
and Princess join hands again---
KING: As of this day you are King of Portugal. My blessings are with
you. Oh-ho-ho!

leaves the port of Lisbon---
---Shows you and Princess on your ship, holding each other, and smiling---
---Shows your ship sailing into the distance, with the sun setting---
---Shows an open book with a feather pen to the right of it---
