There are 2 different endings (that I know of): 

You have to have completed the secret level. When Krusty's show comes on 
you can throw pies at Mr. Burns & Smithers.

If you don't get the secret level, When Krusty's show comes on he says
something like "To bad you didn't collect all the items. Oh well, don't 
blame me. You didn't do it."
