Playing through the game on the hardest mode, you get the same ending as you did when you played it on the easier modes. The ending starts off with some chimes playing and then the credits starts running. While the credits run, it shows how you beat all your characters in the background. Although the last feature was unique on an N64 game, the ending itself was rather disappointing because there was no ending for your character.
