On easy, the ending simply shows the word end and your score.

For beating the game on normal, you see the enemy ship blow up. The game shows your ship fly across the top of the screen and the credits are scrolled at the bottom. When you leave the screen, you see your score under the word END and a comet flies across the screen.

If you manage to win on hard, the ending is the same as normal's ending, but your ship flies out from the top of the screen before the word end is shown.
