You should see all the levels in World 8 because you can only see one level at a time and you don't know were your going.

If you beat the game and all the levels without warping you should get a option to change between characters on pause menu. Here is an example: If you are small Mario and don't want to die you could pause the game and choose Racoon Mario so you don't die as easy.
