The Super Star can be used at any time except during boss battles. It is the same as a regular super star except it lasts a bit longer, and you have to select it through the pause screen (you know, where you keep all the stuff you win at mini-games).

New Weapons(Attacks) for Yoshi

Yoshi should be able to use his tongue to latch on to stuff (think Hookshot from Zelda), and to attack enemies (not just to swallow them).
